Mb3 has more trades than either, even this off season so far... But tough to solve things just by joining a league, so not advocating that idea.

I’m pleasantly surprised with my KTR start. It could be bc teams im playing aren’t setting lineups but to be 9-2-1 is better than I expected. Kuz coming back helps too

The Almighty Veto - A Real Discussion
#11
Throwing down a veto has little to do with personal talent valuations. That would be way way way too subjective.

1. League settings. (Obvious). Goldy trade NEVER get's my Veto in BTL. Not in a millon years. There is harsh curve towards elite end hitters in MB3. Where BTL runs more off cumulative stats for hitters.. Not to mention lower CAP. Harder to get prospects, etc etc.

2. Opportunity cost (Market value observed thru seeing thousands of trades). Its not if player A has some odds of being better than player B. Its a matter of what you can get for player A.

3. Realistic replacement levels vs Cap. RP are highly volitle and the easiest thing to find in FA during the year. Of course elite RP score very well in MB3. It doesn't change the fact finding a good is far easier than SP or Hitting. Buying power for a talent who's production is fesiablly buy-able. Goldy isn't really that buyable.

4. Life is short, fleeting and changes. Dreamers don't like me. Time is money, time is everything. I do not and never will weigh all years equal. The present is the most valeuable for the contender. While the near future is the most valuable for a re-builder. Not the far future. If you want to build your roster for 2024. Then go ahead, but since I know how many people don't stay 5 years. How much a person's life can change and no longer time for this. Or at least focus.

After all this is fake baseball. Life is more important.

No one should EVER take me throwing down a veto as me saying. "I'm better at knowing baseball players then you" That, has like nothing to do with it. At all.

Teams are only renting. I have to view things that way because how many teams do not actually stick around to see the consequences of their trade actions. They left the apartment in shitty condition and its up the landlord to clean it back up to re-sell it.

Don't ever give me the I own it, its my business rationale. You renting the teams rights until you decide to leave. I totally understand a subjective system is flawed though. I'm not pretending it doesn't cause problems. (It does)

Progressive system changes as i've suggested: 7 Man Committee, 3 in each league and Commish. No approvals needed. Trades only die on 4 veto's or 3 veto's when 1 or 2 members is IN the trade.

Second idea: A team that pays 2 years for his team. Will require more veto's to kill a trade. There has rarely even been a trade that gets veto'd so hard. So if you are willing to pay an extra year. You get more reign on your team. Makes sense in my eyes.

This would be voluntary pay. So teams that cannot or don't want to pay advanced. Don't have to.
