Rangers send:

Jeimer Candelario p-n/a
Erick Fedde          p-n/a
Kyle Tucker          p-n/a

Blue Jays send:

Josh Donaldson $10M(2018)
Marcus Stroman $1.8M(2020)

Rangers make this deal to add a quality arm at a great price in Stroman. Donaldson is a one year rental, but he puts up huge numbers. Should add significant pop to the lineup at a position of weakness.
My goal was to move Josh Donaldson who is in his last year ($10.0 million) and acquire some high caliber youth ready to make a impact within 2yrs.

I wanted to move Stroman for multiple reasons despite his awesome contract of 3yrs at $1.8.  His 5' 8", frame is just one of many reason for the move.

I also have some roster flexibility and more 2018 cap room.
Approve; Donaldson is a stud but Tucker is a good get.
Veto

Candelario and Fedde are fluff pieces with nominal value.

The guts of this deal is Tucker (an unproven but highly ranked spec) for Donaldson and Stroman, 2 high quality major league players.

Not even close in this league.

Afraid I am leaning veto as well as Donaldson is a 1st round talent.  He is also coming off an off year so since we are using the rankings for the last 2 seasons (2018 and 2017) his extension number might not be that high.

Erick Fedde, in my opinion is fodder in this deal, as a 24 year old last year with Washington he had a 9.39 ERA and 2.152 in limited innings.  In Triple A he had a 4.76 ERA more hits than innings pitched and only 25 strikeouts in 34 innings.  I don't see him as a future game changer.

Candelairo looks like he will be the starting 3b for the Tigers.  Servicable, but certainly not the caliber of a Donaldson.

It all comes down to Tucker for Stroman who finished 8th in AL Cy Young last season and who dominates at home and Donaldson!

The addition of Stroman makes this one too much.

Maybe try Tucker for Donaldson straight up? Makes more sense although that's still slightly light imo (I'd ask for 2 prospects at least unless it's midseason).

Also Donaldson is either a top 5 non-rental who you would likely keep anyway (let's be honest since unless injured he's top 10 annually) or he has a down year and comes mad cheap.
This isn't going to make it gents.
I'll throw my 2 cents, I'd approve if Stroman wasn't in the deal.
